Dick Milaeger – Retires from Municipal Well & Pump

Dick (Richard) Milaeger retired from Municipal Well & Pump on January 31, 2025.  We want to thank Dick for his years of dedication and service.  He has been a big reason for the success of MWP as he is well respected throughout the industry.  Dick will continue to serve as a consultant to the company and will remain on the Board of Directors.

Here is a short letter from Dick written to all his clients and contacts over the years:

The time for retirement is approaching. In fact, just around the corner. It is a time I never gave much thought to. January 31st is the day. As this day approaches and people begin to learn of my retirement, the big question is always, “So, what are you going to do?” Again, with thought, I have responded “Anything I want”.

But the real question is not what I am going to do, but rather what I am going to miss. I am going to miss the drilling business I have literally been in for 54-years. One my grandfather started in 1916. I will miss being able to work with both my Father and my Grandfather. I will miss the people, clients, and friends I have made over this time. I will miss time spent with the drilling crews and pump crews, solving the problems that arise. The good news is we have been planning for this date for over three years and have people in place that will take over for me. Most of you have met these people already. They have been around for a combined 120-years. These people are good, honest people and have the knowledge to step in and take over. Of course, I will be in the wings as a consultant if needed. Also, I am not foolish enough to think I can literally shut the door and walk away.

I have been blessed in my adventures from Milaeger Well & Pump to Municipal Well and Pump. How many people can say they have NEVER risen in the morning not looking forward to their job?  I can say that. We look forward to the continued relationship we have with you. Blessings to All.
